PLATEAU, NIGERIA. FEBRUARY 2026. In the violence-rocked communities of Plateau State, many residents are losing faith that the cycle will ever end. I traveled to Plateau alongside Daily Mail journalist, David Patrikarakos, to document a crisis that has shaped life in the state for decades. What I witnessed firsthand was the deep human cost of recurring attacks and displacement in what should be one of Nigeria’s most promising regions. On Palm Sunday, Christian communities were again among those attacked in the latest wave of violence. “When does it end?” many ask.
