According to the INEC data, over 93 million people registered to vote in the 2023 general elections. 39.65% of them are young people. 27.8% of them are students. Many of them were voting for the first time.
For this project, 'Àwa ló kàn' mean 'it is our turn', I follow the daily life of John Joyi, a 200 level Economics student in the Lagos State University, who like me, is voting for the first time. It shows his struggles navigating daily life and educational journey and the thing he hopes can be bettered in his life with the coming of a new regime- one he hopes he can install with exercising his civic duty.
